In addition to being able to discount bills of exchange, promissory notes and deferred payment letters of credit in these markets, we can also consider adding our silent confirmation to unconfirmed letters of credit issued by banks in these markets, dependent on specific transaction details. For many exporters, premium increases, market rate additions, non-availability and additional restrictions continue to make silent confirmation of unconfirmed letters of credit a cost effective alternative to credit insurance.
